Johnny Baker Downtown

From humble beginnings in the front window of a former local cafe, with just John and a shop assistant. Johnny Baker has now been through three iterations, with the newest premises producing an exciting range of artisanal gelato along with all the classic delicacies. As always the Johnny Baker open kitchen gives customers the chance to see the process behind the scenes.

Johnny Baker Uptown

Johnny Baker Uptown is located in the old drive through bottle shop behind the Northern Arts Hotel. In the early 1900’s Thompson’s Foundry workers used to ride bikes to work and come to the hotel for after work drinks. Dr Marty’s Crumpets and Johnny Baker share this premises, crumpets are available to take-away and can also be heated up to order. Johnny Baker Uptown offers a limited range of products; some of the classic pastries, cakes and pies along with baguettes and toasties. This shop has been set up to service the weekday breakfast and lunch trade.
